Here comes the Fall

Every season I like to update my wardrobe with a few key pieces. Here is what I am going to be looking for this fall:

Metallic jeans like these Mother skinnies I spotted at Nordstrom

Black and gold outfits – I probably already have this in my closet and you do too, this will probably be the easiest trend to follow this fall. I had to share these amazing black and gold Jimmy Choos I found:

Studded bags…….I’m in love with the entire Valentino fall/winter collection

Booties especially ones with laces that resemble sneakers…..I just got a pair from Bluefly and am beyond excited for them to come.

I’m planning to pair them with some faux-leather leggings, and a fun tank like this one that I just got from Bebe.

Leather….preferable faux-leather. I’m a big fan of patent leather legging or an awesome biker jack like this one from J Brand

How are you planning to update your closet for the fall? Do you update your closet every season?

Dressing my way through Europe

I took a little break from the blog in the recent months. Leana got married and her wedding was absolutely beautiful. Needless to say we were both a little preoccupied with all the last minute details. But we are back……yayyyy
This week instead of writing about what we should wear I thought I would write about what I did wear….

I recently came back from an absolutely fabulous Mediterranean cruise! Before I left I spent at least a few hours  with my amazing friend, Esra, planning my outfits for each destination on the cruise. We googled the fashion of each of the cities I was going to visit and planned my outfits accordingly. So here they are, and the reasons behind what I chose:

From my past trips to Europe, I knew St. Tropez is a posh resort destination, so I decided to wear white shorts with a bright tank. The shorts and the tank are both from Charlotte Russe, my sandals are Dolce Vitta. I added a pair of white Dior sunnies to add a little fab to my outfit. That’s me outside of the Dior restaurant and boutique, the shopping in St. Tropez is beyond amazing!

For our stop in Cannes and Monte Carlo, I chose this maxi dress from Forever 21 paired with a big white hat that I got in Playa del Carmen on our honeymoon, and a Michael Kors bag. My outfit made me feel fabulous and sophisticated…..I think it was the hat. Since Cannes is the site of the Cannes film festival (that’s me outside of the convention center below), and Monte Carlo is the ultimate playground for the rich and famous, I felt my outfit was perfect. It was also incredibly comfortable which was my other objective in planning this outfit. I knew it was going to be hot, and we had to do a lot of walking. My maxi dress was perfect because I could hide my more casual sandals.

I accessorized with gold hoops, an amber and gold statement necklace, gold watch by Michael Kors that my beautiful sister gave me for my birthday a few years ago, and my favorite Oliver Peoples oversized sunnies 🙂

When we went for a wine tasting in Tuscany, I chose a more comfortable outfit. I wore pink AG jeans with a top from H&M. These AG jeans, called “The Stilt”, are more comfortable than a pair of sweats and were perfect for the long bus ride through the Tuscan countryside!

For Rome I chose a pair of the same AG jeans, but in a different, brighter color that I felt was very “Italian”. When I think of Italian fashion, I always picture very bold colors, so my almost neon coral pants felt perfect. I paired them with a striped Design History top (that I snagged on Gilt.com a few months ago), and gladiator looking sandals by Vince Camuto which I thought were very appropriate for Rome.  I have to say even though the pants were incredibly comfortable I felt like I was going to melt, because Rome in July feels like an oven. Thank God it’s dry heat so you can still breathe.

For our day in Capri, I chose a pair of True Religion white capris with a shirt from Armani exchange. I wanted to wear something white to this exquisite island, but had to add some color of course 🙂

Obviously I went on this trip with my very handsome hubby and I have to share my favorite outfit that he wore….I love LOVE him in these Hugo Boss linen pants, True Religion slim fit shirt, Ferragamo shoes, and Louis Vuitton belt.  He wore this to a white party on our cruise ship.
What do you think of my outfits?
Which one is your favorite?
How did you like this post?

Minty Fresh

20120424-162722.jpg This season, a lovely new hue is emerging: mint green. It’s a fresh and wonderful alternative to white or neutral shades, and adds just a little hint of soft color to any outfit. Because its a pastel, its easily matched and will work with most other colors in your closet. <;3 Masha

To take this outfit from day to night add a long statement necklace like this one from Express

Romantic dinner with that special someone… To add some sparkle to your evening pair this with gold or silver sequin pumps …

Hot date…

Do You Shootie?

Do You Shootie?

You can never go wrong with lace, mesh, or sheer when it comes to shoes. I’m all about simple elegance when it comes to fashion but the Shootie has made a definitive mark… Both on the super trendy scale as well as the classy timeless spectrum. And my ultimate favorite Shooties are by Oscar De La Renta and Jimmy Choo. They are modern, chic, and can complete any plain outfit with elegance and style. Although the shootie is not a new kid on the block, the laced up, meshed, or sheer shooties are definitely the hottest trends for Spring 2012. Pair it with your bandage skirt or dress it down with a nice pair of skinny jeans/capris… And you’re set… Not to mention, they are so comfortable!! I personally don’t like too much color… When you wear a lot of different colors, your asking for the wrong type of attention. Instead, pick two tone neutrals, or the ‘in’ colors this spring – fresh tones … Here’s a few fab looks that I fell in love with.

What happens in Vegas…

This past weekend I took a trip to Las Vegas and of course did a lot of shopping. Anyone who has been to Vegas knows about Caesars Forum – a Mecca of fashion boutiques and luxury brands. I couldn’t wait to share my juicy findings with the rest of you, so I did this post from the uncomfort of my passenger seat. I saw a lot of bright spring neon colors which I absolutely adore. There is nothing like nicer weather and bright colors to wake you up from your winter slumber. Get ready to put away that big, dark, down jacket, the faux fur snood, and the over the knee boots (scratch that, don’t hide the boots just yet), and break out the beautiful bright coral, orange, neon pink, lime green, and vibrant lavender. The key this spring is definitely neon. Pastels are also looking like they will be making a presence this spring, so if you don’t like to stand out, no worries, there will be plenty for you as well (hint: keep an eye out for mint green). I guess everything that happens in Vegas doesn’t always have to stay there. Here are a few of my favorite pieces coming for the spring. ❤ Masha

Dress to consciously impress!

Hope you enjoyed our bridal week last week! You may not be a bride this year, but you may be a wedding guest, or you just love to dress up as much as I do. I love wearing a dress because it always makes me feel feminine, elegant, and sexy. Nothing is sexier than a formfitting bodycon dress. Wearing a super tight dress like the ones below probably strikes fear into most women, but these dresses are actually surprisingly flattering because they suck you in and smooth out your shape more than you think. Pay attention to the length of these dresses, the shorter ones may make your hips look bigger, but will also show off your legs.

The Herve Ledger spring 2012 collections = beyond fabulous!

Herve Ledger definitely has the most amazing bodycon dresses, but if you don’t feel like spending $1000+  on a dress there are plenty of absolutely fabulous alternatives. Or if Herve Ledger is what your heart desires, you can always rent one of these hot numbers from http://www.RentTheRunway.com. I rented a Christian Siriano dress once and absolutely loved that I didn’t have to spend $3000 on a dress that I probably only would have worn once. ❤ Masha
