Dressing my way through Europe

I took a little break from the blog in the recent months. Leana got married and her wedding was absolutely beautiful. Needless to say we were both a little preoccupied with all the last minute details. But we are back……yayyyy
This week instead of writing about what we should wear I thought I would write about what I did wear….

I recently came back from an absolutely fabulous Mediterranean cruise! Before I left I spent at least a few hours  with my amazing friend, Esra, planning my outfits for each destination on the cruise. We googled the fashion of each of the cities I was going to visit and planned my outfits accordingly. So here they are, and the reasons behind what I chose:

From my past trips to Europe, I knew St. Tropez is a posh resort destination, so I decided to wear white shorts with a bright tank. The shorts and the tank are both from Charlotte Russe, my sandals are Dolce Vitta. I added a pair of white Dior sunnies to add a little fab to my outfit. That’s me outside of the Dior restaurant and boutique, the shopping in St. Tropez is beyond amazing!

For our stop in Cannes and Monte Carlo, I chose this maxi dress from Forever 21 paired with a big white hat that I got in Playa del Carmen on our honeymoon, and a Michael Kors bag. My outfit made me feel fabulous and sophisticated…..I think it was the hat. Since Cannes is the site of the Cannes film festival (that’s me outside of the convention center below), and Monte Carlo is the ultimate playground for the rich and famous, I felt my outfit was perfect. It was also incredibly comfortable which was my other objective in planning this outfit. I knew it was going to be hot, and we had to do a lot of walking. My maxi dress was perfect because I could hide my more casual sandals.

I accessorized with gold hoops, an amber and gold statement necklace, gold watch by Michael Kors that my beautiful sister gave me for my birthday a few years ago, and my favorite Oliver Peoples oversized sunnies 🙂

When we went for a wine tasting in Tuscany, I chose a more comfortable outfit. I wore pink AG jeans with a top from H&M. These AG jeans, called “The Stilt”, are more comfortable than a pair of sweats and were perfect for the long bus ride through the Tuscan countryside!

For Rome I chose a pair of the same AG jeans, but in a different, brighter color that I felt was very “Italian”. When I think of Italian fashion, I always picture very bold colors, so my almost neon coral pants felt perfect. I paired them with a striped Design History top (that I snagged on Gilt.com a few months ago), and gladiator looking sandals by Vince Camuto which I thought were very appropriate for Rome.  I have to say even though the pants were incredibly comfortable I felt like I was going to melt, because Rome in July feels like an oven. Thank God it’s dry heat so you can still breathe.

For our day in Capri, I chose a pair of True Religion white capris with a shirt from Armani exchange. I wanted to wear something white to this exquisite island, but had to add some color of course 🙂

Obviously I went on this trip with my very handsome hubby and I have to share my favorite outfit that he wore….I love LOVE him in these Hugo Boss linen pants, True Religion slim fit shirt, Ferragamo shoes, and Louis Vuitton belt.  He wore this to a white party on our cruise ship.
What do you think of my outfits?
